About Us

  • History of Our Business 1997-2010

The business began in the summer of 1997 with hope and ambition of an Aggie family. It began when Michael Hudson walked into the Sam Houston Sanders Corps of Cadets Center to get his Corps Wedding Cake Topper. He learned that the gift shop had be decommissioned and great gift items might never been seen again (i.e. the Corps Miniatures). We located the creator and owner, Bob Lang ’49, and his business was purchased and Aggieland Depot was formed.  In late 1997 Gallagher's Gallery, a custom framing and prints,  was added to the store. Then we set out to find unique Aggie collegiate licensed products and other companies to acquire. We carry various Aggie Artiest, unique Aggie gifts, A&M Miniatures, Cross Stitch, Boot Cases, and historical and wildlife prints and much more.

As an Original Founder, many of my days off were spend driving to College Station to help my parents, Jim and Margaret Hudson, with the store. As my family grew my two oldest would make many trips from Houston the Aggieland with me as I helped with the store. My two oldest children are 4th Generation Aggies, all starting with their Great Grandfather J. Elmore Hudson ’30, tons of Great Aunts, Uncles, Cousins on both sides of the family, to my father who enrolled 1958 and then my siblings and myself.  In 2010 my father suddenly passed away and the physical store was closed and we sold exclusively online for a few months, but with my mother’s health diminishing everything was shelved and the inventory stored in all our family homes.

Throughout the years customers inquired about us reopening and our unique products, especially the Miniatures, still on display at the Sam Houston Sanders Corps of Cadets Center on the campus of Texas A&M University. The miniatures hold special memory since it’s what kicked off this journey and I helped to paint them. So in February 2025 Crystal and I, with our families help, started to relaunch AGGIELAND DEPOT and our unique Aggie gifts.
